- The Transalpina(Road King)or DN67C located in the Parâng Mountains group, in the Southern Carpathians of Romania, is one of the most spectacular roads of the Carpathian Mountains. It connects Novaci, south of Parâng Mountains, to Sebeş in the north.It is said that the road was built under King Carol II and rebuilt during World War II by German troops and it is called The King's Road by the locals. Also a story has it that Nicolae Ceauşescu had the Transfăgărăşan Road (DN7C) built during the communist regime just to surpass the Transalpina. The road has its highest point at Urdele Pass, where the elevation is 2,145m above sea level. Given the high altitude, the road is closed during the cold months of the year. Works began in 2007 in order to transform this spectacular road into a modern highway (148 km), allowing a rapid transit between Oltenia and Transylvania. Rânca, a newly developed resort, is located towards the south end of the Transalpina road.

- Transalpina(Drumul Regelui)-DN 67C este o şosea din Munţii Parâng, în Carpaţii Meridionali. Este cea mai înaltă şosea din România, având punctul cel mai înalt în Pasul Urdele (la 2.145 m). Drumul face legătura între oraşele Novaci din judeţul Gorj şi Sebeş din judeţul Alba. Fiind un drum alpin, este închis pe perioada iernii. Drumul dinspre Novaci este asfaltat doar până la Rânca (1.600 m). În continuare, drumul este cu bolovani şi grohotiş, fiind nerecomandat pentru autoturismele cu garda la sol joasă (eu am mers cu o masina cu garda de 19cm nu am avut nicio problema dar am vazut si alte masini cu garda joasa... evident cu riscurile de rigoare oricum nu recomand:P), precum şi pentru cele cu resurse de putere reduse, având în vedere pantele destul de abrupte care urmează. Drumul a mai fost reabilitat în timpul celui de-al doilea război mondial, când nemţii aveau nevoie de această cale de acces din motive militare. De atunci a fost foarte puţin întreţinut. Este prevăzută modernizarea acestui drum pe o distanţă de 148 de kilometri, între Sebeş, judeţul Alba şi Bengeşti, judeţul Gorj. În fiecare an în luna septembrie pe o portiune de serpentine a DN67c între Novaci şi Rânca se desfăşoară Campionatul Naţional de Viteză în Coastă etapa Rânca.
